이런 대칭의 이름은 뭘까?

곱셈대응표도 비슷하지만, 출발지(X축)-도착지(Y축) 에 대응하는 요금표를 보면서 들게 된 생각이다.

보통 그리는 X-Y axis (X-Y 좌표축) 그림은, 가로선(X 축)을 원점(영점)을 고정시켜 놓고 맨 오른쪽 끝(화살표가 그려지는 부분)을 왼쪽 위로 (원을 그리듯이) _돌려서_ 올려서 세로축(Y축)을 그리듯이 만든다. 원점을 중심으로(시작점으로)하여 오른쪽 방향이 X 대응 값이 커지는 방향이고, 위쪽 방향이 Y대응값이 커지는 방향이다.

이런식으로 하면, 원점은 한 점에 고정이고, 반대방향 쪽 (무한대(화살표))이 돌아가는 것이다. (좀 전에는 시계 반대방향으로 돌리는 것을 묘사했지만, 그 반대인 시계 방향으로 돌리는 것으로 만들어도, 원점이 한 점에 고정이라는 대응표가 만들어진다는 점에서는 똑같다.)

이렇게 만들면, X축의 같은 값과 Y축의 같은 값을 대응시키는 표는 원점을 중심으로 45도각도로 올라가거나 (Y축을 시계 반대방향으로 돌려서 만들었을 때), 45도 각도로 내려가거나 (Y축을 시계 방향으로 돌려서 만들었을 때) 하게 된다.

이렇게 되면 X <-> Y 교환 대칭인 것은 축상에 대응값을 그대로 붙인채로 편한 삼각형 표 (대칭이라서 생략가능한 부분을 지운 표)를 만들 때에 축의 라벨이 축에 붙지 않는 어려움이 생긴다.

하지만, 위와 같이 Y축을 만들지 않고, X축의 원점을 수직으로 위로 올리면서 X축 가로선의 오른쪽 위치의 어느 곳 (예를 들어 X=10 인 위치점)을 기존의 원점(X=0)의 위치로 옮겨오는 방식으로 Y축을 만들면,

X <-> Y 교환 대칭인 대응표를 (적어도 0 – 10 의 범위 내에서는) (X,Y) 축 상에 라벨을 붙이고 대칭부분이라서 중복되는 삼각형을 생략한 삼각형 대응표를 만드는 것이 가능해진다.

이런 것은 무슨 대칭인가? 정확히 배운 적은 없는 듯하다.

최근에 알게 된 ( Mozilla Thunderbird )의 ( saved search ) 기능 설명서.

우연히 한번 쓰게 되었는데, 매우 쓸모 있어 보여서 다시 해 보려 했지만, 잘 안되었다. 검색을 통해서 다시(?) 알게 되었다.

From the File menu, click New, and then Saved Search from the sub-menu. The New Saved Search Folder dialog appears.
Click the Create as a subfolder of dropdown if you wish to change the parent folder. The folder that was selected when you opened the saved-search dialog in Step 1 will be displayed as the default name and location of the new saved search folder.
To select the folders to search, click the Choose button. A dialog will be displayed that contains a hierarchical view of all the mail folders in all of your accounts. Select the check box next to each folder you wish to include in the search.

TIP: If you want to include a number of folders that are next to each other in the list, you can multi-select them. Click on the row of the first folder (not in the check box), then press Shift and click on the last folder. Then press the Spacebar to select the check box for all of the highlighted folders (pressing Spacebar again clears the check boxes).

NOTE: You can include as many folders as you like in your saved search, but each folder you add will cause the search to take longer. Only select the folders that you need.
If your messages are not stored on your local system for offline access (for example, if they are stored on a central IMAP server), check Search Online. This is only necessary if you are filtering based on the body of the message, as addresses and the subject line are stored locally even if you leave the message body on the server.

TIP: In most cases, searching online is unnecessary and will slow your search down. An offline search is conducted locally on your computer, while an online search uses your mail server to do the search. Offline searches are much faster and Thunderbird's auto-sync mechanism automatically keeps your folders up-to-date.
