위에도 적혀 있지만, 내가 겪고 있는 문제는 몇몇 linux/*bsd 배포판에서 emacs GUI 를 띄우면 기본 한글 글꼴 설정이 내 알량한 미적감각에 부합하지 않는 한글 글꼴이 기본적으로 사용되는 데에 있었다. 그리고, 터미널을 띄운 상태에서는 내가 보통 shell대신에 사용하는 mc_(Midnight Commander)_가 요즈음 GUI Desktop용 단축키와 충돌하는 문제가 있었는데, 요즈음 들어서 기본적으로는 잘 설치되지 않는 XTerm 을 설치하고, 그 속에서 mc 및 _( emacs -nw )_ ( 이것은 emacs 를 GUI가 아닌 TUI 환경으로 실행하는 option이다. )로 실행하면, mc의 GUI 단축키 및 GUI-terminal 단축키와 충돌하는 문제와 한글글꼴이 몇몇 경우에 내 마음에 들지 않는 것이 사용되는 문제를 일거에 해결할 수 있었다. XTerm은 조금 오래된 X Window용 terminal emulator로써, 웬만한 요즈음의 단축키를 사용하지 않아, mc의 단축키와 충돌하지 않는 (뜻하지 않은?) 장점이 있다. 게다가 여기에서 사용되는 한글 글꼴은 emacs GUI 버전에서 몇몇 배포판에서 사용되는 맘에 들지 않는 글꼴이 아닌 깔끔해 보이는 다른 글꼴로 한글이 표시되었다.

한동안, emacs에 더 능숙해지기 전까지는 이것을 많이 활용해 보려고 한다.

[ emacs -nw ] _( emacs -nw )_ 는 xterm 메시지 및 MidnightCommander mc commander (shell? )에 사용되는 한글 글꼴과 같은 글꼴을 써서 한글을 출력하고 있었다. 그래서 xterm 에 한글 글꼴 설정이 있는지 많이 찾아봤으나 default 설정에 _( fixed )_ 라는 지정만이 있는 것을 알아냈다. 이것은 고정폭 글꼴을 사용한다는 것이고 구체적인 글꼴은 이제는 XWindow 시스템의 글꼴 선택 mechanism을 찾아봐야 하게되었다. 이젠 XWindow 설명문서를 뒤져봐야 하겠다. 기초가 없이 참 고생하는 듯 하다.

XTerm을 띄운 상태에서 shell (bash...) 을 쓸 때에도 같은 글꼴이 쓰이며 vi 에디터를 사용해도 같은 글꼴로 한글이 나온다. Midnight Commander 에서도 (파일 목록/내장-뷰어/에디터)도 같은 글꼴로 한글이 나온다. 아래는 vi에디터로 한글을 입력/편집할 때의 화면이다.

한글 1글자가 (영문/숫자/특수문자)의 2개 폭의 위치를 차지한다. 영문...은 고정폭으로 표시된다. 나름 깔끔하다. 가변폭을 좋아하는 알파벳 사용자라면 조금 실망스러울 수도 있다. 이 한글 글꼴이 무슨 글꼴인지, 왜 이 글꼴이 선택되어 표시되고 있는지 전혀 몰라서 답답하다. 그나마 윈도우즈에서는 비주얼 스튜디오에 제멋대로 설치되던 폰트가 멋대로 사용되는데 어떻게 알아볼지도 몰라서 명색이 프로그램 짜는 사람으로써 매우 기분 나빴던 기억이 있다. 그나마 오픈 소스에, 찾아보는 것이 매우 번거롭기는 해도 모든 정보를 정성스럽게(?) 공개를 하고 문서도 잘 만들어진 편이라서 삽질이라도 해 볼 수 있으니 조금은 낫다. 누군가 이 글꼴을 만들고 자동으로(?) 표시되도록 만들어 주었을텐데, 고마울 따름이다.

freebsd xwindow

프리 BSD, freeBSD (13.2 기준인데, 아마도 최소한 10.0 이상에서는 맞을 것이다.)

x window startup script 는 기본값이 아래의 위치에 있는 것으로 관찰된다.

(아마도.. xorg-minimum 설치 후에 그냥 실행하면 생기는 동작이 그대로 여기에 나온 것으로 봐서 추측된다.

따라서, 기본적으로 사용하고 싶은 것이 있다면, 여기에서 복사해서 써 보자.

o-virtualbox 에 debian linux 11 ( 32bit )설치 오류 고치기

처음에는 kernel panic 이 나고 멈춰 섰다.

상황은 GRUB boot loader 지나고 한참 kernel module 올라오는 도중이었다.

몇 번을 그렇게 하다가 error message 를 보니까, kernel 1개가 멈춰서 있단다. 생각을 해보니, 어쨌건아 추측하게 되는 것이,

cpu core 를 1개로 생각했는데, 2개 이상으로 하고 있었던 것이었다. 그래서, virtualbox virtual machine 설정에서 cpu core 갯수를 1개에서 2개로 올려 주니까, 다행히도 이것이 맞는 조치였던 듯하다.

작동하기 시작했다. 이제 i386 32bit 도 2개 이상의 cpu 를 사용하도록 설정해야 작동하도록 바꾼 듯하다.

어쨌든 이런 것은 검출해서 적응하도록 만들어줘야 하는 것이어야 할 것인데, 왜 이렇게 했을까? 보안상의 문제가 생기는 것일까?

아래에는 참고할 곳.. 2018년도에 32bit windows-host 에서 centos를 설치하려고 했을 때에 약간은 비슷해보이는 문제가 생겼는데, 여기에서는 cpu를 2개로 하는 것은 나오지 않은 듯하다.

리눅스 hostname (호스트 이름) domainname (도메인 이름)

호스트_이름/도메인_이름을 완전 기본으로 정했다가 바꾸고 싶게 되었는데,

처음 찾은 자료에는 /etc/hosts 파일에 설정하는 것이라고 해서 이 파일을 바꾸고 재부팅해 봤는데도 안되어서 더 찾게 되었다.

여기에서 찾은 방법대로

$ sudo hostname my_new_hostname

했더니 재부팅 필요 없이 컴퓨터 이름이 바뀌어 있었다.

도메인_이름은 귀찮아서 그냥 localdomain 그대로 놔 두기로 했다.
