What is NetplWiz?

Netplwiz.exe is  a useful tool for managing user accounts in Windows 7 and Vista. It is located in C:\Windows\System32.

3. Managing Password stored in your computer

When you surf the web and check your e-mail, Internet Explorer will ask you to save your password. If you will use this feature, Windows will store your logon credentials for servers, websites, and programs. When you open one of those websites or programs, Windows will try to log you on automatically.

Just go to the Advanced Tab->Manage Passwords

This is very useful if you always forgot the passwords in different email accounts and websites. Just don't forget to Backup for restoring them later when needed.

CONS: Usability or Security

There are some utilities that can decrypt your stored passwords easily. I recommend saving or storing your password, if this situation doesn't apply to you.

To launch NETPLWIZ or Advanced User Accounts Control Panel:

Press WinKey+R, Type Netplwiz and Press Enter

너것들은 왜 내 인생을 쓸데없이 피곤해지게 만드냐고....

알아낸 경위:
가끔  윈도(XP)의 기본 작업관리자로는 정체를 알 수 없는 Setup.exe 가 나타나며 CPU를 독식하는 현상이 발생해서 정체를 밝히려고 벼르다가 process explorer로 감시하게 하던 중 오늘 갑자기 CPU가 버벅대기 시작해서 process explorer로 보니 정체가 나타나더라... 자동 실행 서비스로 시작된 setup.exe _는 구글 크롬 업데이트 process _였다. 이놈이 CPU를 50%나 혹사 시키면서 몰래 버벅대고 있었던 것이다.
이것을 알아내고 크롬을 실행시켜서 업데이트를 어떻게 하고 있나 봤더니, 에러 메시지가 나오면서 상태를 알 수 없다고 했다.
어쭈, 주인님께 보고(report)도 못해? 발칙한 것...
그래서, 이놈의 프로세스를 일단 가차없이 종료 시켜 버리고, 다시 크롬을 실행 시켜서 수동으로 버전확인 및 업데이트를 수행했다.
확실히 그렇게 하니, (현재의)버전도 확인 되었고, 일단, CPU 독식은 일어나지 않았고, 조금 있다가 업데이트 한다고 하면서 느릿느릿 0% 진행률을 계속 유지했다. 네트워크 사용률을 보니 다운로드를 하는 듯한데, 형편없이 느렸다. 그러다가 다운로드가 다 되었는지 이번에는 윈도기본 백신이 날뛰면서 CPU를 50% 잡아 먹는 것이 약 1분...
그 이후쯤에 다른 setup.exe 가 하나 더 실행되더니(process explorer로 감시) 조금 있다가 업데이트가 끝났다고 크롬에서 메시지가 나왔고, 다시 시작하란다. 웃기시네... 난 지금 너 안 쓰는 시간이거든... 더 귀찮게 하지 마라... 그냥 종료해 버리고 말았다.
앞으로도 이 일이 가끔 벌어질 텐데, 그 때 스크린 캡처를 해서 이 글을 보완하겠다.

일단 알고나서 조금이라도 제어할 수 있게 되니 그것만으로라도 좀 내 속이 나아진다.

하드를 긁는 것이라기보다는, 엄청나게 버벅대기 시작할 때...
이전 다른 글에서 소개한 process explorer 로 보니, 서비스로 실행되는 SQL Server 들이 실제로는 사용하지도 않는 시간에 엄청나게  CPU 를 잡아먹고 있는 것을 보게 되었다.
사용하는 비주얼 스튜디오 익스프레스에서 설치된 SQL Server Express 까지도 실제로는 비주얼 스튜디오를 사용하지도 않고 있는 상황에서 펑펑 돌아가고 있었다.
그래서 일단 프로세스를 일시중지(pending)시키고 (process explorer 에는 이런 기능도 있다), 비주얼 스튜디오를 사용했으나, 내가 사용하는 기능에는 아무런 이상도 발생하지 않았다.
그래서, 아예, 해당 서비스를 사용 중지 하고, 사용 안함으로 설정해 버렸다.
그랬더니, 조금씩 컴퓨터의 속도가 살아났고, 역시나 내가 사용하는 기능들은 모두 정상적으로 쌩쌩하게
잘 돌아갔다.
